Packers Called To Address Worrisome 4th Quarter Trend

The Green Bay Packers are expected to be either the last or one of the last teams standing in the NFC this season, perhaps in the entire league.

They certainly looked like the absolute best team in the league in the first two weeks of the regular season, but not so much in the past two.

Notably, plenty of that may have to do with their late-game woes.

As pointed out by Packers Realm on X, Matt LaFleur’s team needs to stay focused through all sixty minutes of the game.

After four weeks, the Packers rank first in point differential in the first quarter, but they’re just 25th in point differential in the fourth quarter.

Of course, context matters, so we have to take this with a grain of salt.

The Packers were up big time against both the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders late in the game, so it’s not like they struggled to close those games out.

Then, they shut down the Cleveland Browns for most of the game, with Kevin Stefanski’s team making the most of one interception and one blocked field goal to storm right back and put up 13 points in nearly four minutes in Week 3.

Still, that’s not to say this isn’t something worth keeping a close eye on as the season goes by.

It should definitely be a point of emphasis during the bye week, and it might also be a wake-up call for Matt LaFleur, who needs to do a better job of managing the game down the stretch.
