The Green Bay Packers are looking to get better on defense.
They already have plenty of talent on that side of the field, but defensive coordinator Joe Barry failed to make the most of it.
Now, with Jeff Hafley taking the reins of the defense, they’ll look to bolster their secondary with one of the best safeties in the game.
According to a report by Connor Hughes, the Packers are keeping an eye on New York Giants’ star Xavier McKinney.
The #Eagles are preparing to circle not just Saquon Barkley, per sources, but also #Giants safety Xavier McKinney. Very aggressively, specifically with Barkley ($$).
Another team very interested in McKinney, per sources: The #Packers.

McKinney has made it loud and clear that he considers himself to be one of the prime defensive players in the game, so he wants to be paid as such.
And while he’s talked about his desire to stay in the Big Apple for years to come, he’s not going to give the team any sort of a hometown discount.
Notably, the Packers could still face some steep competition for his services.
Hughes reports that the Philadelphia Eagles will also look to make a run at McKinney, as well as star RB Saquon Barkley.
The Packers showed that they’re not that far behind in terms of contention.
They were the youngest team to make the playoffs in NFL history, and they were quite close to reaching the NFC Championship Game.
Needless to say, adding a prime defender like McKinney to that mix would only do wonders for Matt LaFleur’s team, but it’ll be interesting to see if they’re able to make the numbers work.
