After becoming a bonafide superstar and drawing much-needed light to women’s basketball while playing at the University of Iowa, Caitlin Clark was selected No. 1 overall by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Clark immediately made the WNBA that much more relevant and something basketball fans were more willing to tune into during the season, as she was able to carry her unique ability over to the professional level and turn the Fever into must-see TV.
Although Clark’s instant stardom in the WNBA ruffled a lot of feathers among players who were already established in the league, there’s no doubt that she has done wonders for the women’s game, boosting attendance while making the league more marketable and a talking point on major networks on a daily basis.
It’s been announced that Clark has won WNBA Rookie of the Year, which was to be expected considering what she accomplished in his first season with the Fever.
Indiana Pacers stars Myles Turner, Tyrese Haliburton and Obi Toppin are among those congratulating Clark for winning the regular-season award.

With Clark creating such a buzz for the WNBA in her first season, it’ll be interesting to see what she can do for the league in the years to come and whether she can elevate the Fever to title-contending status.
If Clark can continue on this path, there’s a chance she can make a run at being the greatest women’s player of all time while having a Michael Jordan-like impact on the league.
