The Indiana Pacers came close to winning the NBA Finals, but not close enough.
Now they are in a very interesting and difficult position: do they make changes in the offseason, or do they run it back with the same squad they have now?
One thing is clear: they definitely wish to have Myles Turner in the lineup next season.
According to Brian Windhorst, via Evan Sidery, the Pacers are preparing to re-sign Turner, which means they will be in the luxury tax for the first time in 20 years this offseason.

There is a good reason why the Pacers are bringing Turner back: he’s been a huge part of the team’s success.
Last season, he averaged 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds on 48.1 percent from the floor.
Throughout the regular season and the playoffs, Turner was showing why he’s so valuable to the Pacers.
As noted by Sidery, this definitely complicates Indiana’s financial situation.
They will now be in the luxury tax, which means they are going to have to pay a lot more for their players.
This hasn’t been the case in decades, and it shows that re-signing players who are finding success can be very costly.
One of the most remarkable things about this Pacers team is that they have been built from the ground up, slowly but surely accumulating talent and avoiding the desire to pursue a superteam.
They did everything the right way, but they are still getting slapped with taxes now.
But it may be worth it for the Pacers.
This season’s playoffs proved they have something special, and they want to build upon it.
