The Atlanta Braves have finally started to heat up and are showing why they are the defending World Series champions.
After a brutal start to the season, they have come to within five games of the New York Mets in the NL East and now find themselves in possession of the third NL Wild Card following their 12th consecutive win.
However, there was a downside to their win over the Washington Nationals last night, as Ozzie Albies suffered a fractured foot during a routine swing.
MLB on FOX tweeted a video of what happened, which shows Albies limping in the dugout and down into the tunnel after exiting the game.
Ozzie Albies exited tonight's game with a fractured foot.
Get well soon, Ozzie 🙏

Albies On The Mend
For the Braves, this is a huge blow, and it’s hard to imagine Albies not missing a good chunk of time.
It’s a good thing Ronald Acuna Jr. is back and healthy, or else they’d be in trouble.
But they might be in trouble anyway.
Albies is one of the most impactful players in all of baseball and losing him for any amount of time definitely hurts for the Braves.
Albies has yet to be placed on the injured list, but that is basically a formality.
It’s very likely that he will be out for a little while.
The most likely internal candidate to fill the hole left by Albies’ injury would most likely be Orlando Arcia, although they did just claim Kramer Robertson off of waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals.
Perhaps he’ll get a shot.
Regardless, this is a tough blow for the defending champs.
We’ll see what the Braves will end up doing to fill the hole.
There are options, but this is still a major blow.
