At times, pitchers will throw pitches that just get away from them.
Even the best are susceptible to having something like this happen to them.
On Monday night, it was Baltimore Orioles reliever Bryan Baker who experienced this.
In the top of the seventh inning, Baker entered with the Orioles trailing the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 1-0.
While facing Rays catcher Francisco Mejia, Baker lost his footing, and tumbled off of the mound as the pitch he threw sailed away from him.
On Twitter, MLB on FOX provided a video of this incredibly odd moment where Baker threw a pitch that was just a bit outside.

What appeared to take place in this moment was rather odd.
Baker’s back foot came off of the rubber and caused him to lose his balance, which in turn caused his pitch to sail on him.
And so, the moment made the highlight reel from Monday night’s game.
Fortunately, it didn’t deter Baker and proved to only be a blip on the radar.
The right-hander threw a scoreless seventh inning and worked around two walks to keep the Rays in check.
The run that did score was charged to starter Kyle Gibson, who pitched into the seventh but was pulled before he could record an out.
Tampa Bay won the game by a final score of 3-0 and extended their lead in the AL East to 6.5 games over the Orioles, who now have lost three straight games.
But the moment of the game ended up being Baker’s wild pitch.
