The 2022 NFL Draft is over and it has been a deep class for defensive ends.
Five edge rushers were selected in the first round, including the top two overall picks.
After much speculation and debate, the Jacksonville Jaguars made Georgia’s Travon Walker the first overall selection.
Coming behind him is Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson, who will join his hometown team Detroit Lions.
Three picks later, Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux went to the New York Giants.
The New York Jets pulled off a heist by getting an extra first-round pick to choose Florida State’s Jermaine Johnson II.
Finally, Purdue’s George Karlaftis was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs at number 30.
Overall, 23 defensive ends went throughout the draft’s seven rounds, the last being Coastal Carolina’s Jeffrey Gunter going to the Cincinnati Bengals.
But with the edge rusher’s class of 2022 already settled, FOX Bet released early odds regarding Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Hutchison tops the list at +450 while Thibodeaux is second at +500.
Walker ranks third at +700 while Johnson is at eighth with +1100 odds.
They are the only defensive ends in the top ten.
Other Candidates In FOX Bet’s List
Coming in at fourth is cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner at +800.
The former Cincinnati standout went to the Jets as the fourth overall selection and the second cornerback taken behind Derek Stingley Jr.
But in FOX Bet’s odds, Stingley is one spot behind Gardner at +850.
Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton and Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis are at +900 and +1000, respectively.
Rounding up the top ten are Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd (+1500) and Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean (+1600).
Dean has the potential to be the steal of the draft after he fell to the Eagles in the third round.
