On Monday morning, Shams Charania reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks could end their relationship this summer.
Just like that, NBA fans began speculating about where Antetokounmpo could go.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, via Evan Sidery, there is a frontrunner to land Antetokounmpo, but it’ll be a close race.
The Houston Rockets have the best chance of getting Antetokounmpo if he is traded, with +950 odds.
They are followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder with +1000, the Golden State Warriors with +1100, the San Antonio Spurs with +1200, the Brooklyn Nets with +1600, and then the Los Angeles Lakers (+1800), Phoenix Suns (+1800), and Miami Heat (+2000).
Updated odds via @DKSportsbook on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s next team, if he decides to request a trade from the Bucks:
Rockets: +950
Thunder: +1000
Warriors: +1100
Spurs: +1200
Nets: +1600
Lakers: +1800
Suns: +1800
Heat: +2000 pic.twitter.com/tICBOsqohh— Evan Sidery (@esidery) May 12, 2025
No matter the likelihood of getting him, all of these teams will fight hard to be in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.
His team may have struggled over the last few years, but Antetokounmpo remains one of the best players in the league and is still an MVP-caliber star.
Of course, he comes with a big contract, and any of these teams would have to cough up a lot to get him.
The Rockets and especially the Thunder have the assets needed to please the Bucks.
But that doesn’t mean they will get the job done and get Antetokounmpo to sign on the dotted line.
If Milwaukee moves forward with trading him, nearly every front office will pick up the phone and try to make a deal happen.
This offseason could be filled with many big changes, surprising trades, and league-altering adjustments.
A potential move of Antetokounmpo could be the biggest headline of them all.
All eyes will be on Milwaukee for the foreseeable future.
Will they see eye-to-eye with Antetokounmpo and double down on a future with him, or will they begin to slowly move forward with a potential trade?
