The Chicago Bulls are on the verge of breaking up their core of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Alex Caruso following yet another poor start to the regular season.
As of now, the Bulls are 4-8 to start the season, as they are the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference.
With that said, many rumors suggest that the Bulls may be open to trading away Alex Caruso for the right deal.
Keeping that in mind, the Philadelphia 76ers are apparently the favorite to acquire the defensive juggernaut, as revealed via NBACentral on Twitter.
The Sixers are the favorites to land Alex Caruso, per @BovadaOfficial
– Philadelphia 76ers: +250
– Los Angeles Lakers: +300
– Milwaukee Bucks: +450
– Golden State Warriors: +450
– Dallas Mavericks: +650
– Los Angeles Clippers: +650
– Atlanta Hawks: +650
– Denver Nuggets: +800… pic.twitter.com/ImndrqLPKa— NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) November 17, 2023
Caruso is currently averaging 8.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game for the Bulls.
He’s putting up these numbers while shooting 60.8% from the field and 44.8% from the three-point line.
Any team in the NBA would love to trade for a defensive specialist who can shoot efficiently from the floor.
Considering that the 76ers are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, adding a player like Caruso to the roster would make them huge favorites to win the 2023-24 NBA Championship.
If the 76ers fail to land Caruso, the Los Angeles Lakers have the second-best odds to trade for the veteran guard.
This would be familiar for the Lakers, as they had Caruso on the roster a couple of years ago.
In fact, Caruso played a crucial role in helping them win the 2019-20 NBA Championship.
Despite his excellent performance, the Lakers allowed Caruso to leave after the end of the 2020-21 season.
