Over the past few years, the Denver Nuggets have been a juggernaut in the Western Conference, with arguably the best player in the NBA leading the way in three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
After winning the title the season before last and clearly being the best team in the league, with every other team trying to figure out a way to catch up, the Nuggets came into the 2023-24 campaign with many believing they could repeat.
Unfortunately for Denver, even though it played well during the regular season, the Nuggets couldn’t get it done in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, falling to the defensive-minded Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round.
With the Nuggets investing so much in stars like Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon, they have found it challenging to bring in other players to upgrade the roster, which has led some to believe that their championship window might be closing.
Porter recently made some comments that alluded to the team’s confidence level moving forward and how they may have only the rest of this season to prove themselves.
“If we don’t win it this year, we all know they might have to break it up,” Porter Jr. told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, via NBACentral.

Four games into the 2024-25 NBA regular season, the Nuggets don’t resemble the dominant force they have been over the past few years, as they’ve split those games, losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers out of the gate.
It’s early, and the Nuggets have time to turn things around, but it doesn’t seem to be trending in the right direction in Denver as head coach Mike Malone tries to get his team back on track.
