This cemented their standing as one of the teams to beat in the league, especially in the Western Conference.
While the Nuggets put together a solid run in the 2023-2024 season, they fell short of a back-to-back run.
The Minnesota Timberwolves were a tough matchup for them, and the Nuggets were forced to go back to the drawing board in the offseason.
A majority of the team’s core is locked up, but they do still have a few loose ends, which includes Aaron Gordon.
Gordon has been a staple of this team for a few years, but for whatever reason, the Nuggets haven’t extended him.
NBA Central recently highlighted a report from Brian Windhorst that indicated the Nuggets don’t want to give him a max contract, but a reason has not been given as to why.

They don’t have much time to get a deal done before the season starts, and at this point, it’s unlikely that anything will happen in the next few days.
Gordon is a cornerstone of this team, but if they aren’t willing to meet his demands, he could look elsewhere or even request a trade.
The NBA continues to be a player-run league, and if the players aren’t happy, they do whatever they can to turn the tide.
