All of the NBA is currently celebrating Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
That’s because Jokic has earned the NBA MVP trophy for the second year in a row.
The honor was definitely earned after Jokic’s season consisting of 19.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 6.2 assists.
He’s easily one of the most important and powerful centers in the league.
And he’s come a long way from his early days in the league.
He was drafted 41st — during a Taco Bell commercial.

Many fans are pointing out that when Jokic was drafted into the NBA back in 2014 he didn’t draw a lot of attention.
In fact, when he was officially drafted, his name was only mentioned in the midst of a commercial break.
That’s right, the world learned Nikola Jokic’s name as a Taco Bell advertisement played.
He was the 41st overall selection in that year’s draft and few people knew just how special he’d become.
Jokic’s Justified Win
There is no doubt that Jokic is currently the most important player on his team.
However, there is also no doubt that the Nuggets are struggling to live up to their potential.
They have been without two of their other stars – Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr – for months now.
Without them, the Nuggets struggled outside of Jokic’s output.
Even with his skills, the team once again faltered in the playoffs and was out in the first round.
However, the MVP trophy is all about the regular season.
Jokic’s dominance is hard to argue against.
Not only is he an intimidating monster of a center, but he also moves and creates plays like a point guard and can shoot the ball quite well too.
His versatility is just one of the reasons why Jokic is so special.
The big man’s skills and talent will never again be confined to the limits of a commercial break.
