The Denver Nuggets are in the NBA Finals because of a move they made back in 2014.
The NBA is a sports league where players from overseas are drafted, meaning you do not need to go to college in America to hear your name called on draft day.
That was the case with Nuggets center Nikola Jokic.
He is a Serbian-born player who thought it was best for him not to play college basketball.
Jokic is a unique player as he is not a great athlete.
According to NBA on ESPN, Jokic even said in an interview when he was younger that he does not enjoy college basketball.
That is because, “everyone jumps so high.”
Jokic knew what he was about even before getting drafted 💪

Jokic also mentioned how he does not jump, he just plays basketball his way.
It is rare for a player like Jokic to be so dominant.
He is not fast and cannot jump high, but his scoring and passing ability are elite nonetheless.
The Nuggets took a chance on Jokic in the second round of the 2014 draft.
It has turned out to be their best draft pick in franchise history.
Not all great NBA players play college basketball or even come from America.
Many legends have come from overseas to dominate the NBA.
As Jokic gets set to play in his first NBA Finals he can add another milestone to his already impressive resume.
Jokic may not be your prototypical NBA superstar but he is building a case as one of the top centers ever.
