Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets may be on summer vacation already but he’s still celebrating a successful season.
No, his team didn’t make the Finals again but Jokic did secure his second MVP trophy.
The back-to-back honors for Jokic are a huge deal because it confirms that he’s truly one of the most talented ballers alive.
Additionally, Jokic’s triumph proves that greatness is possible no matter where a player lands in the NBA Draft.

Jokic is now the first second-round pick to win multiple MVP awards.
That’s a major milestone for Jokic and for the league as well.
The NBA is getting far more competitive and deep and Jokic is proof of that.
Not Joking Around
Jokic had an absolutely dominant season this year, averaging 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists.
Those are jaw-dropping numbers and cement 2021-22 as his best season in the league so far.
It’s wild to think that the Serbian big man was picked in the second round of the draft, the 41st overall pick.
In fact, a humorous fact about Jokic is that the draft was actually on a commercial break when Jokic was selected by the Nuggets.
That’s right, when Jokic’s name was announced, the draft was showing a Taco Bell commercial.
Jokic’s MVP success is surely inspiring players all over the world who might not be picked right away in the draft.
It should give them faith that no matter where they land in the selection process, they can still work their way up through the league and make a strong impact.
There is no doubt that Jokic is definitely one of the best centers alive – and possibly one of the best ever.
Not too bad for a second-round pick.
