The Kansas City Chiefs are fresh off a Super Bowl title, looking to repeat that success in 2023.
They still have many key pieces from their title-winning roster, who already have built-in rapport with their fellow teammates.
While training camp has begun for the Chiefs, they haven’t yet been joined by Chris Jones.
The Chiefs haven’t signed Jones to a contract extension, which many believe is a mistake.
According to Nick Wright via ‘First Things First,’ regarding this situation, he said, “I do believe he’ll be there for week 1.”
"I believe Chris Jones will be there for Week 1, which is important because the Chiefs can't go 20-0 without him." 👀

The Chiefs have slightly more than a month to figure out Jones’ contract, which Wright believes will happen.
Wright has gone on record to express his belief in this roster, even suggesting that the Chiefs can put together a perfect season.
In this segment, Wright did acknowledge “they can’t go 20-0 without him.”
Jones was a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022.
He put together his best statistical season last year, amassing 44 tackles and 15.5 sacks.
Despite this brilliance, however, the Chiefs have failed to reach a contract extension with Jones.
They are running out of time, as there is slightly more than a month before the NFL season begins.
Although Jones was on the roster last year, he’ll still want to get in reps at training camp, building himself back up for another dominant season.
As Wright indicates, it’s not a matter of if the Chiefs want to bring Jones back, but it’s a matter of when and for how much.
