For many fans, training camp is seen as one of the most exciting parts of the offseason.
It indicates that the NFL season is right around the corner and that teams are beginning their work to hopefully become Super Bowl Champions.
For the Cincinnati Bengals, however, training camp began with a scare to one of their top players.
Joe Burrow suffered a calf strain during one of their first practices, leading him to be carted off the field.
While the team has maintained that Burrow will likely be back for week one, others are concerned about what this means for the team.
Nick Wright recently discussed the current situation on FS1’s ‘First Thing’s First.”
“You’ve gotta be incredibly cautious with your franchise, which is Joe,” Wright said.
How worried should Bengals fans be?
"Joe Burrow's calf strain isn't a season-defining disaster for the Bengals. But it could 100% lead to one. … You’ve gotta be incredibly cautious with your franchise, which is Joe." — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/0IiyFfKu3q

While Wright was discussing Burrow’s injury, he continued to reiterate that the Bengals should take things slow with him.
Burrow tore his ACL in the 2020 season but was able to bounce back in 2021 and 2022.
While he’s suffered from leg injuries in the past, every subsequent injury can be more and more detrimental.
As Wright and so many have pointed out, Burrow is the Bengals’ franchise.
For many years, they were a bottom-feeder in the AFC, and not often seen as a legitimate threat.
However, because of his elite play thus far, Burrow has turned the Bengals around, making them yearly playoff contenders.
This injury could slow him down, and the Bengals could suffer as a result, especially if he misses a few regular season games.
