New Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton recently made some poignant comments about what went wrong with the team last season.
He was particularly harsh on Nathaniel Hackett, the Broncos’ head coach for most of the 2022 season, in his comments.
While some like the fact that Payton kept it real about the disaster in Denver last year, others feel he crossed the line.
One man in the latter category is sports commentator Nick Wright, who said that Payton made a mistake because now the spotlight will be squarely on the Broncos.
"Sean Payton really blew up the best thing the Broncos had going for them — flying under the radar."

Last season, the Broncos were expected by many to be Super Bowl contenders after they traded for Russell Wilson, but instead, their year became a slow-moving train wreck.
They won just five games and missed the playoffs while being saddled with one of the weakest offenses anyone can ever remember seeing while Wilson had the worst season of his career.
Denver hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2015 season when it won the Super Bowl in Peyton Manning’s final year.
Hackett is now the offensive coordinator of the New York Jets, another team that is looking to change its fortunes by acquiring an aging star quarterback — Aaron Rodgers.
Already, Denver has been dealt a major blow, as wide receiver Tim Patrick will miss all of this season with a torn Achilles.
He had already sat out all of last season after tearing his ACL during training camp, and he is one of their biggest threats on offense.
