As the start of the 2023 NFL regular season draws near, all sorts of lists are starting to emerge on talk shows about where some of the best players in the league stand.
Usually, these lists on shows like First Things First get broken down by position, like top-10 wide receivers or top-10 quarterbacks, but Nick Wright and company went with a much broader approach by breaking down the top-10 players in the NFL.
It comes as no surprise, especially from Wright, that superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is sitting atop the list of the top-10 players in the league ahead of the 2023 campaign.
Mahomes is coming off his second Super Bowl title while still playing the quarterback position at a very high level.
The rest of the list gets a bit interesting, with a few holes via First Things First.

Everyone on Wright’s list is deserving, with Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Micah Parsons, Aaron Donald, and Trevor Lawrence all proving their worth either last season or over the course of their career thus far.
A few of the others on the list are a little questionable, like Chris Jones, Myles Garrett and Travis Kelce being as high as he is at No. 3.
Leaving out Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins superstar Tyreek Hill is a little strange, as both players are still playing at the top of their games and should arguably replace Jones, Garrett, or Chase.
Although Wright has some questionable decisions here, it’s only his opinion, and everyone is entitled to one, and it will be interesting to see if these 10 players turn out to be the best of the best during the upcoming season.
