The New York Jets have very lofty expectations this season thanks to the arrivals of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers and four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook.
Their head coach, Robert Saleh, says that they have talked about owning the AFC East, which could be the most competitive division in the entire NFL this season.
Fox Sports 1 personality Nick Wright seemed to mock Saleh’s words, as he pointed out how much ineptitude the Jets have had to deal with throughout their NFL existence.
To be exact, they are tied with the Houston Oilers, who became the Tennessee Titans and moved to the AFC South many years ago, for the fewest AFC East titles.

"The Jets are slightly less successful in the AFC East than the Baltimore Colts. Talking about owning a division where that you've been a seller for the entire existence is laughable." pic.twitter.com/v9uUuMr9pE

The Jets haven’t made the playoffs since the 2010 season and haven’t won the Super Bowl since the 1968 season when they defeated the Colts before the AFL-NFL merger was finalized.
Since 1968, they have reached the AFC Championship Game only four times, and thus the mere idea of the Jets being a championship contender will take some getting used to.
They do seem to have the talent to be a championship contender, starting with Rodgers and Cook and extending to reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson and a defense that ranked fourth in points and total yards allowed last year.
But in the AFC East alone, the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills also have Super Bowl aspirations, and elsewhere, squads such as the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs will look to stay ahead of the Jets and the rest of the division.
