For the first time in what seems like forever, there is optimism surrounding the New York Jets.
Future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers is now their starting quarterback, and they have some very capable players on both sides of the football.
However, fans in the Tri-state area shouldn’t make plans for the Super Bowl just yet, according to Nick Wright.
In fact, Wright feels the team is more likely to “blow up” than “glow up.”
"I've never seen more hype surrounding a team that went 7-10 the previous year, and was lucky to get those 7 wins."

Last season, the Jets won five of their first seven games, leading to some real hope that they would make the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
Instead, they finished the year with a 7-10 record, and Wright feels they were lucky to get most of those seven victories.
If New York does end up floundering this season, at least some of it could have to do with Rodgers.
He is 39 years of age, and his numbers declined last season during his final voyage with the Green Bay Packers, as he posted his lowest passer rating and QBR ever since he became a starter in 2008.
New York’s running game is also suspect — in 2022 their leading rusher was Breece Hall, who ran for a mere 463 yards and four touchdowns.
But at least the Jets finally have a roster that can be competitive.
They haven’t reached the Super Bowl since all the way back in 1968, and even when they went to the AFC Championship Game in 2009 and 2010, some would say they weren’t bona fide championship contenders.
If they are to make it to the big game, they will have to overcome an extremely competitive conference and division.
