The Dallas Cowboys aren’t the favorites to win the NFC, but they do have a very strong squad, at least on paper, for this season.
They won 12 games in both of the last two seasons and this offseason, they went out and made some key additions in multiple areas.
As a result, commentator Nick Wright is high on the Cowboys’ chances of doing something special this fall and winter, via “First Things First” on FS1.
"I believe in the Cowboys this year. We are underrating what they did last year. They didn't get worse … I'm out on the 49ers, I think the Eagles will regress. I really like the Cowboys chances in the NFC."

Dallas has added wide receiver Brandin Cooks and he will take some pressure off Pro Bowler CeeDee Lamb, who had 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022.
They also brought in star cornerback Stephon Gilmore, a five-time Pro Bowler they’re hoping will make a good defense even better.
He will team up with Trevon Diggs to help the Cowboys shrink both sides of the field in their secondary while providing support for All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons.
Wright is also hopeful for Deuce Vaughn, a running back they took in the sixth round of April’s draft.
But ultimately, how far the Cowboys go will depend on quarterback Dak Prescott.
He has a history of not playing up to his potential in big games, and in last season’s playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, he threw two interceptions and just one touchdown pass.
The Cowboys and 49ers, those old NFC rivals going back decades, could possibly be on a collision course to meet for the conference title, especially if the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles take a step back, as Wright expects them to.
