Currently, the only thing anyone can talk about when it comes to the San Francisco 49ers is whether second-year quarterback Brock Purdy will be ready to start the season and if Trey Lance is in the team’s long-term plans.
Although those are valid topics and concerns for the 49ers moving forward, the team is also working on getting a lucrative contract extension signed by star defensive end Nick Bosa.
At this point, it seems that it is a foregone conclusion that both sides will see eye-to-eye on an extension and ultimately get a deal done to make Bosa potentially the highest-paid defensive player in the league.
Bosa is confident a deal will get done by the start of 49ers training camp and that he’ll get paid what he’s worth via Around The NFL.

Bosa is coming off his first NFL Defensive Player of the Year award after his best season to date, in which he also earned All-Pro honors for the first time in his career.
Although Bosa has had some injury issues throughout his four-year career, there’s no doubt that when he’s healthy, he’s one of the best, if not the best defensive player in the league, and he’ll likely get paid as such once the two sides agree upon a new deal.
Last season, Bosa recorded a career-high 18.5 sacks, which led the NFL and proved his worth as the team’s best pass rusher.
The new career-high sack total tops his previous high from the season before, which was 15.5.
