Each season there are a few big-name NFL players that fail to reach expectations.
Across the league, there are a few receivers who have struggled so far this season.
One of these guys signed a big contract in the offseason while the other was expecting a breakout third season.
Here are two wide receivers who have been disappointments this season.
1. Allen Robinson, Los Angeles Rams
After spending most of his career suffering from poor QB play, Allen Robinson was a key free agent signing by the Los Angeles Rams.
He would finally have a competent QB throwing him the ball and Robinson was looking for a career year.
Yet, nothing has gone as expected for the 29-year-old receiver.
WR Allen Robinson is talking to reporters and repeatedly emphasizing that the Rams fundamentally have to get better on first down to have any success as an offense: "We’ve gotta look ourselves in the mirror, dig down deep and find ways to execute."

Through eight games, Robinson has caught 25 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
He has been a non-factor in the Rams offense and that could be part of the reason for their 3-5 start.
Robinson has been a massive disappointment this year but there is still time for him to turn his season around.
2. Jerry Jeudy, Denver Broncos
When the Denver Broncos added Russell Wilson into the fold, the idea was that the Denver wide receivers would have career years.
One player in particular, Jerry Jeudy, was expecting to take off.
Instead, Jeudy has been quiet all season.
He has 30 receptions for 449 yards and three touchdowns.
Some of the problems with Jeudy’s production have been the poor play of Wilson.
The inability to throw the ball accurately has hurt the former first-round pick’s production.
But, the Broncos are not thrilled with Jeudy as they took calls on possibly trading him at the deadline.
For the record the Packers did check in on WR Jerry Jeudy, but weren't close to offering what would have been needed.

Jeudy is still a young player with his best years ahead of him, but this season has been a disappointment.
