The Indianapolis Colts had a simple path into the playoffs.
All they had to do was beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18.
Then disaster struck, as Carson Wentz looked awful and Jacksonville took home a shocking 26-11 victory.
That opened up a potential playoff berth for the Pittsburgh Steelers on a Week 18 Sunday filled with chaos.
This result has the entire NFL world talking about the sheer insanity of seeing the Colts end their season in this way.
In the span of two weeks, the Colts went from the team nobody wanted to see in the playoffs to a team nobody is seeing in the playoffs.

Wentz being outplayed by Trevor Lawrence in a blowout loss was not what anyone had in mind heading into the game.
NFL World Reacts To The Shocking Result
The Colts looked like a serious contender and even have an MVP candidate in Jonathan Taylor.
None of that matters now because the team could not take care of business against one of the worst teams in the NFL.
Craziest thing ab the colts not making the playoffs is they had the most pro bowlers for a team and an MVP candidate 😮💨😮💨😮💨

Remember @danorlovsky7 said the Colts were the biggest threat to the Chiefs? 😂

There is just no real explanation for what happened other than the fact anything can happen in the NFL.
Plenty of reaction is directed toward Wentz following his performance.
He went 17/29 for 185 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
In the end, Carson Wentz and the Colts are not in the playoffs. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are in.
And Philadelphia will still have 3 first-round picks. Bonkers.

Thanks @cj_wentz for wasting @JayT23’s MVP worthy season! https://t.co/IBhLRHirsy

Carson Wentz is trash.

Colts fans are left reeling because the team sent what turned into a first-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles to land Wentz.
Now the Eagles are in the playoffs with Jalen Hurts while the Colts may be wondering if they should have convinced Philip Rivers to come back for one more season.
The colts really lost to the Jaguars………..with a playoff spot on the line 😂😂😅🤣😂😅🤣

Gotta love the @jaguars using the Elmo gif after smashing the Colts. https://t.co/uQBmbNqfZF

Carson Wentz: 210 YPG, 27 total TDs, choked against Jaguars to be eliminated.
Jalen Hurts: 210 YPG, 26 total TDs, playoff berth.
Pair that with the Colts’ first rounder and it’s safe to say the Eagles easily won the Carson Wentz trade.

The Colts now get to spend the offseason figuring out just what went wrong.
It is hard to have much confidence in Wentz moving forward if he was not able to step up against the Jaguars, who still clinched the No. 1 overall pick even with the win.
