The NFL world collectively watched Sunday night as Odell Beckham Jr. fell to the turf with a non-contact injury.
The Los Angeles Rams initially said he was questionable to return, but he soon returned to the sidelines in regular clothes.
His season was over.
An injury update was revealed Monday afternoon and it confirmed what many had suspected.
#Rams WR Odell Beckham Jr is believed to have torn his ACL in last night’s Super Bowl win, source said. That means a long road of recovery for the free agent, who has a challenge to be ready for 2022. Beckham had 2 catches for 52 yards, 1 TD and 1 moonwalk before the injury.

NFL World Reacts To The OBJ Injury News
The injury was especially brutal because Beckham got the scoring started with an early touchdown reception.
He could have easily had a career-defining game if he had played all four quarters.
Yet finishing with a touchdown in a Super Bowl victory is still a tremendous feat.
OBJ would’ve been MVP if he didn’t get hurt

Torn ACL for Beckham, terrible. Wins a ring but now you have to wonder about his future.

Beckham will turn 30 years old in November and this is now his second torn ACL in two seasons.
His hope was that his time with the Rams would boost his stock and land him one more lucrative, multi-year deal.
Now fans are left to wonder if he will even be able to suit up at his usual levels again in 2022 or ever.
@obj prayers Up man heard it was an ACL tear🙏🏽🙏🏽 Enjoy the ring you earned it

There is, of course, some negative reaction toward Beckham.
He rubbed plenty of people the wrong way forcing his way out of Cleveland during the season.
Yet the overwhelming response is positive and expressive of hope for a speedy recovery.
Anyone sending hateful messages his way may want to sit back and think about what there is to gain from such negativity.
