The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, and there have been several would-be contenders that are underperforming and in need of a boost.
Many of these teams mostly need an upgrade on the offensive side of the football, and there are a few intriguing prospects who are rumored to be available.
One of them is Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool.

The Steelers are struggling with a 2-5 record after losing to the Miami Dolphins, 16-10, on Sunday night, and some changes may be in order for Mike Tomlin’s crew as they continue to embark on the post-Ben Roethlisberger era.
A Potential Move On The Horizon
Claypool has shown some potential in his three pro seasons, having put up over 850 yards in each of his prior two campaigns.
So far this year he has collected 266 yards in seven games, but he has just one touchdown and an average of 9.5 yards per reception.
If the Steelers think they will receive the type of compensation the Carolina Panthers got for former All-Pro First Team running back Christian McCaffrey, they may be mistaken, as Claypool simply isn’t on the same level.
One team rumored to be interested in Claypool is another storied franchise that is currently struggling – the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers are just 3-4, mostly because of a sputtering offense, and they could use another option at wideout who can make game-changing plays.
Perhaps Claypool isn’t quite that type of player, but he may be the type of young prospect who would be worth investing in for the right price.
He could potentially blossom playing for an elite quarterback such as Aaron Rodgers, just as Davante Adams started to blossom playing with him after a lackluster first couple of seasons.
