3 NFL Teams Ready To Contend With New QBs

The 2022 offseason saw teams signing new quarterbacks and others trading for new ones.

Some will wait for the 2022 NFL Draft for their next starting quarterback.

However, some teams made the move for a new signal-caller hoping to make the playoffs now.

These teams are done with missing out on the playoffs and hope a new quarterback will change that fate.

While a new quarterback doesn’t always fix the problem, sometimes it does.

So what three NFL teams can make the playoffs with their new quarterback under center?

3. Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders made waves by trading for quarterback Carson Wentz.

While Wentz wasn’t their first choice, it is the choice they are stuck with now.

He isn’t the best quarterback in the NFL but he will be in the NFC East, a division known for lackluster records.

It also brings him back to a division that he is familiar with, allowing him to play against teams he knows.

The fact the NFC East doesn’t impress most seasons is more the reason the Commanders have a shot with Wentz.

Their only competition in the division is the Dallas Cowboys.

The Commanders could defeat the Cowboys in 2022 with Wentz as quarterback.

That gives them a chance in 2022 with their new quarterback to make a playoff run.

2. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos made a huge trade deal with the Seattle Seahawks for quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson is a former Super Bowl champion and has gone to two Super Bowls.

Denver looks to find that same success with him under center for them in 2022.

They will need to build around him, though, if they want to reach the playoffs in a tough AFC West.

However, Wilson gives the team better chances at a wild card spot than they had with Teddy Bridgewater.

His success in Seattle came without huge names on the offense to help him.

Denver’s offense is much like that offense from his old team.

However, he knows how to work with players he’s got around him.

That’s what gives Wilson and the Broncos hope for a playoff appearance in 2022.

1. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts ditched their quarterback in a trade only to trade for Matt Ryan.

Ryan brings playoff and Super Bowl playing experience to the team.

The Colts didn’t have that with Wentz, who was injured when he got his Super Bowl ring with the Eagles.

Ryan also comes to a team that was only one win away from making the playoffs last season.

Indianapolis has been close to the playoffs before without Ryan.

Adding Ryan can help the Colts get over that hurdle that’s before them.

They already have the best running back in the NFL in Jonathan Taylor.

Taylor can soften up defenses with his running power.

They can also use him in play-action passes to keep the defense on their heels.

With him and Ryan, the Colts offense is primed to get them into the playoffs in 2022.
