The recent matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs was met with a lot of pregame excitement.
This was not just a game between two of the AFC’s best teams, but a chance for Tyreek Hill to play against his former team as well.
While he might have talked a big game, Hill finished the contest with eight catches for 62 yards.
Hill has put together six games on the season with 88 or more yards, making this one of his worst performances to date.
In a conversation between Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, Sharpe broke down a potential reason for Hill’s lackluster stat line.
“Tyreek was too amped, he wanted to play too well,” Sharpe said.

Sharpe also mentioned Hill’s “two huge drops,” which are uncharacteristic of him.
Hill is one of the best receivers in the NFL, and for him to have two drops and a fumble is nearly unheard of.
While this game was a fluky performance from Hill, it is a sign that he needs to take a breath moving forward, especially if he plays the Chiefs again.
This could be a possibility in the postseason, especially if both teams keep playing at their current pace.
Ultimately, Sharpe and Johnson do not believe that Hill is on a downward trajectory.
They talked about their careers, highlighting times they have dropped balls in big moments.
After this poor performance, Hill will likely respond with a big game when the Dolphins take the field next, a Week 11 matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
