The Cleveland Browns thought that dealing Baker Mayfield to another team would be easy.
After all, he was a massive part of the team’s 2020 playoff run.
But did his contention with Odell Beckham Jr. make it difficult for Cleveland to find any takers?
Beckham’s father posted a video about instances wherein Mayfield did not see the younger Beckham downfield.
In some ways, that grievance placed the Oklahoma alumnus in a bad light.
The torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder did not help him perform well either.
Even if the Browns already have Deshaun Watson as their presumptive starter, Mayfield is still under contract after the team exercised a fifth-year option worth $18,858,000.
Therefore, he can still report to the Browns’ offseason workout program starting April 19.
However, Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov has a different take on how Mayfield can handle the situation.
#Browns players report for voluntary workouts on Tuesday and what Baker Mayfield does will be interesting.
He could just not show up.
Or … he could show up, make things awkward, and force the Browns to get something done already.
Hope has been for a trade before the draft.

The 2022 NFL Draft will start in ten days, with Mayfield still with Cleveland.
Showing up for the offseason workouts will be a bold reminder that the clock is ticking.
Who Will Trade For Mayfield?
Only two teams are aggressively looking for a quarterback.
The Carolina Panthers may use their sixth overall pick to select a quarterback or negotiate a trade for Mayfield.
Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks need more talent under center, even if they already have Drew Lock, Geno Smith, and Jacob Eason.
Unfortunately, both teams might not view Mayfield as their long-term solution.
But his relatively low salary for a starting quarterback makes the trade enticing.
