Back on June 9, the Minnesota Vikings decided to part ways with four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook, which was a surprising move, to say the least.
With Cook being fresh off his fourth straight Pro Bowl season, the consensus was it wouldn’t take long before the star running back would find another job in the NFL, with the Miami Dolphins expected to be the most interested team in his services.
Almost two weeks later, Cook remains without a team, and there’s no telling where he might end up as there doesn’t seem to be as much interest in signing him as expected.
With Cook still being a free agent at this point in the process, ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggested on The Pat McAfee Show that the new-look New York Jets, led by superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, should make a run at signing Cook.

With the Jets going all-in during this NFL offseason with hopes of winning it all next season, the addition of Cook to the backfield in New York would only improve their chances of lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the season’s end.
Cook is far from done as an elite back and would be the ideal mentor for Breece Hall, as they would become arguably one of the best one-two punches in the NFL.
It all depends on where Cook wants to play and his asking price moving forward.
If the price is right and Cook is content with signing with the Jets, New York will be scary offensively to start the 2023 campaign.
