The Carolina Panthers are a franchise that is sick of losing and failing to live up to expectations, with owner David Tepper willing to pull out all the stops and get this team back to contending for a playoff spot on an annual basis.
Last season, the Panthers made two bold moves which showed the team isn’t messing around anymore and are ready to make some noise sooner rather than later.
First, the team traded superstar running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers, which is a move many thought was inevitable, with the team going nowhere.
Second, Carolina traded for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, showing the team is ready to bring in a franchise quarterback to groom as the team’s next leader.
That quarterback turned out to be Bryce Young out of Alabama, who just agreed to a fully-guaranteed four-year deal worth nearly $38 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The #Panthers and No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young have agreed to terms on his 4-year fully guaranteed $37.96 contract that includes nearly $24.6M in a signing bonus that he gets up front. He’ll sign soon.

Although some critics and pundits have given the Panthers a little grief for picking an undersized quarterback to be the face of the franchise moving forward, Young seems to be the right choice and the most NFL-ready of all talented quarterbacks taken in this year’s draft.
Young has a long way to go to prove himself to the Carolina franchise, but Tepper and company seem solid on the former Crimson Tide star.
Only time will tell if the Panthers got it right with Young, as Carolina will be a team to watch in the NFC next season.
