It was also nice payback for the Chargers after losing to the Raiders in Week 18 last season to bid farewell to their playoff hopes.
Allen had four receptions for 66 yards to lead Los Angeles’ receiving corps.
Unfortunately, he left the game early due to a hamstring injury.
Given that they will have a short recovery period before their Thursday Night Football game in Week 2, Allen might not suit up against the Kansas City Chiefs.
NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport shared an update regarding Allen’s status.
#Chargers WR Keenan Allen will have an MRI on his hamstring after being ruled out yesterday, source said. Given the quick turnaround, missing Thursday vs. the #Chiefs makes sense, but tests today will determine the full extent of the injury.

It would be wise for the Chargers not to let him play if the injury bothers him to any extent.
After all, other players stepped up for them during their season opener.
Austin Ekeler also finished with 72 total yards.
Chargers Must Match Chiefs’ Firepower
Kansas City still put up 44 points in their season opener even if All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill isn’t around anymore.
The Chiefs’ dynamism on offense will be a huge challenge for the Chargers defense, which had six sacks on Derek Carr in Week 1.
Patrick Mahomes will find ways to extend their drives and potentially score.
Therefore, Justin Herbert and the Chargers should match Kansas City’s ability to put points on the board.
Doing so might be difficult if Allen is sidelined for Week 2.
