Adam Gase is likely out of opportunities as a head coach in the NFL.
He went 23-25 in three years with the Miami Dolphins, followed by a 9-23 stint with the New York Jets.
His 2020 squad finished 2-14, which was not even bad enough to land the top pick to select Trevor Lawrence.
That explains why he spent 2021 out of the NFL.
But as we know in the NFL, those who have been in the league before usually find their way back.
That is reportedly possible with Gase as NFL insider Mike Giardi has said the former Jets head coach could end up in New England.
In addition to Bill O'Brien, Adam Gase's name keeps popping up when speaking to league sources about the #Patriots now vacant offensive coordinator position. In Foxboro, there's hope for an internal promotion, although that likely wouldn't come with the official OC title.

Patriots fans need not worry, as he is not linked there to replace Bill Belichick.
Instead, he is rumored to be in the mix for some job on offense now that Josh McDaniels is the head coach in Las Vegas.
Former Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien is reportedly in the mix as well.
Repairing A Reputation
Gase is now known as the guy who couldn’t get any success out of Sam Darnold.
He showed up ready to help the young quarterback launch a long and successful career.
As @MikeGiardi and I reported, Adam Gase is a potential target to join the Patriots staff

Yet both are now in different places trying to repair their reputations.
Going to New England may be the perfect fit for Gase.
He can work alongside Bill Belichick and change his own narrative by helping Mac Jones along in his development.
Gase takes a ton of heat on social media for his Jets tenure and for all of his memorable facial expressions during press conferences.
But he does have success running an offense, as seen with the Denver Broncos, and is still only 43 years old.
Going to New England could launch a second act in his coaching career.
