The Indianapolis Colts are having yet another change at the game’s most important position.
Matt Ryan replaces Carson Wentz as the team’s starting quarterback, continuing an odd tradition that dates back to Week 1 of the 2017 season.
Back then, Scott Tolzien started for the Colts after Andrew Luck went out due to injury.
Since that year, Indianapolis had Luck, Wentz, Jacoby Brissett, and Philip Rivers under center.
Ryan guarantees a sixth different starter for the Colts and they are hoping that the former league MVP will help them return to the playoffs.
The Colts missed the postseason in 2021 despite having two opportunities to clinch a berth.
Unfortunately, Wentz might be one of the reasons for the demise.
That said, they dealt him to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a second and third-round pick in the 2022 draft, as well as a conditional third-rounder in 2023.
Wentz’s transfer and Ryan’s arrival continue what NFL reporter Dov Kleiman calls a “wild ride.”

Kleiman shared a tweet that featured four posts from the Colts’ official Twitter account.
It all pertained to the time when the team revealed their next quarterback.
It showed a screenshot of a video wherein Rivers shared a message to Colts fans and Wentz on the team plane with the caption “We’re home.”
The Drama Continues
Then, there’s also a picture of Wentz’s first landing in Indianapolis and Ryan’s landing as well.
The Colts will have the veteran for at least two years which coincides with the remaining years in the extension he signed with the Atlanta Falcons.
However, there might be a chance that the Colts will extend him for a few more seasons after.
Therefore, Ryan’s stint won’t be too long and the team will need another Twitter post of the same nature in the near future.
