The forgettable stint of Dan Snyder as the owner of the Washington Commanders is about to come to an end, with the longtime owner of the storied NFL franchise finally agreeing to sell the team.
Although an ownership group led by Josh Harris, which also includes Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson, has come to an agreement with Snyder on a deal worth over $6 billion, the deal hasn’t officially gone through just yet.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network via The Dan Patrick Show, the deal for the Commanders will go through eventually, but there are some things being worked out before it becomes official with Harris and his ownership group taking over.
"They're definitely working through some things… There's maybe a little more debt than the league would like but, no one has suggested to me at all ever that it's not going through. I mean this thing is going to happen."

As for the Commanders as a team, the Washington franchise is hoping to finally break out of Snyder’s reign and become a force to be reckoned with in the NFC once again.
The most recent order of business was the team declining the fifth-year option on defensive end Chase Young, which was surprising, but at the same time, understandable considering his injury problems over the last few years.
Although new ownership will almost certainly be a step in the right direction for Washington, it may take some time before the team can right the ship and contend in a highly competitive NFC East division.
The team will likely move forward with Sam Howell as their starting quarterback, which could pose some challenges next season as this team tries to build a winning culture under veteran head coach Ron Rivera.
