Adam Schefter is known as a top insider in the NFL world.
He usually has the latest and best scoops, getting news other simply cannot attain.
That is what has made him so famous during his time with ESPN.
However, he was in the news for an unfortunate reason on Friday.
He sent out the following tweet once it was announced Deshaun Watson would not face any criminal charges.
This is why Deshaun Watson, from the beginning, welcomed a police investigation: He felt he knew that the truth would come out. And today, a grand jury did not charge him on any of the criminal complaints.

“This is why Deshaun Watson, from the beginning, welcomed a police investigation: He felt he knew that the truth would come out. And today, a grand jury did not charge him on any of the criminal complaints,” the tweet read.
His replies quickly filled up with outrage as it seemed Schefter was insinuating that Watson did nothing wrong at all.
A response was in order and he offered one up soon after.
This was a poorly worded tweet that deserves a proper response. It was intended to provide insight into the strategy of Watson’s legal team from its POV. I should have been clearer. As legal experts have explained, a lack of an indictment alone does not mean someone is innocent.

Some may say a clarification was not needed.
Yet it served him well given the nature of this situation.
Adam Schefter Needed To Clarify His Words
It did appear that the initial tweet was saying that Watson was innocent.
Yes, the quarterback was not charged with any crimes.
Yet this is a sensitive situation with plenty of alleged victims involved.
Schefter should keep in mind how big his reach is and how the way he words a tweet is important not just for him, but for ESPN as well.
