NFL fans were in for an absolute treat Thursday night as the Washington Football Team squeaked out a shocking victory over the New York Giants.
One aspect of the game that drew some attention was the NFL’s big announcement at halftime.
The league teased something about its show Hard Knocks and there was no telling what was to come.
Were they switching networks or even canceling the program?
Not quite.
The NFL revealed they are now offering an in-season look at a team, with the Indianapolis Colts up first in 2021.

This is actually a rather cool announcement and adds intrigue to a show that has lacked it over the past few seasons.
Colts In A Dramatic Spotlight
The Colts are now going to offer fans an in-depth look at how a team operates during the actual season.
While team-produced content does exist, the HBO crew should be able to gather more than what is usually seen.
The Colts are also the perfect team for such a show.
There is really no telling what their true ceiling or basement is in 2021.
The #Colts will become the first team featured for an in-season edition of Hard Knocks, the league announced. Will premiere Nov. 17 and continue every Wednesday night through the end of the Colts’ season.

Carson Wentz remains a huge question mark and it was hard to take much from a boring Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
If he rebounds and has a breakout season the show will be all about that journey.
Yet if the team struggles, the drama will come in watching an NFL team operate through in-season adversity.
What We Hope To See
The past intrigue from Hard Knocks was following players near the bottom of the roster and getting to know them throughout a training camp.
Seeing them be cut could be heartbroken, but was all part of the process.
The show has switched things up as of late and that may be why the NFL decided to spice it up with an in-season version.
This could mean fans get a look at the way a locker room handles a tough loss, or even celebrates a thrilling win.
We can also see the day-to-day process of preparation in a regular season, compared to the more laid back nature of a training camp.
This may also give NFL fans a deeper look at Wentz and who he is as an individual.
He may get a chance to shed light on how difficult it has been for him dealing with so many injuries, and most of all fans will see if he is a good fit with the Colts.
The NFL always keeps things interesting and this new version of Hard Knocks will be must-see television at least at the start.
