The only two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft class who many people feel have star potential are Shedeur Sanders of Colorado and Cam Ward of Miami.
But Alabama QB Jalen Milroe has tantalized scouts with his dual-threat ability.
Milroe has been compared by some to Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback who could win his third NFL MVP award this season, and he responded by complimenting Jackson while also saying he grew up as a Ravens fan.
“For someone that aspires to go to the NFL, just seeing as he takes his game to the next level each and every year … that’s inspiring for sure,” Milroe said, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Milroe was told by a reporter that his game was compared to Lamar Jackson’s. He said he was flattered and that he grew up a Ravens fan. https://t.co/t4C0sC0PZG

In addition to having running ability like Jackson, Milroe has a strong arm that allows him to stretch the field vertically, but he is perhaps an unfinished product who is missing some fundamentals at this point in his development.
This season, he threw for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns while adding 726 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground.
Milroe isn’t widely considered a first-round talent, but it does help to remember that Jackson was the No. 32 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by Baltimore.
This year’s QB class isn’t considered to be particularly deep, but one of the great things about the draft is the fact that any given team can walk away with a future Pro Bowl player, or even a franchise cornerstone, in the late rounds.
With a number of teams across the league looking for an upgrade at quarterback, it will be interesting to see if Milroe is selected earlier than projected.
