After getting knocked out of the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, losing in four straight games, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James dropped a bombshell by saying he would consider retirement during the summer.
Although some say James said this to overshadow getting swept by the Nuggets, no one really believed he’d walk away from the game after playing his 20th NBA season, as he was still clearly capable of playing at a high level and within reach of winning a fifth championship ring.
Shortly after flirting with retirement, the veteran forward let it be known that he will be coming back for a 21st season in the NBA, which obviously made the Lakers extremely happy.
It appears that James isn’t wasting any time in getting his body up to speed and ready for the rigors of an 82-game regular season followed by a deep run in the playoffs, as he was seen working out at the Lakers practice facility in El Segundo via ClutchPoints.

The real question from here on out for James is how much he has left in the tank and whether that’s enough to lead the Lakers to the promised land one more time before he calls it a career.
With the Lakers seemingly making all the right moves over the course of this NBA offseason, Los Angeles will have a decent shot at dethroning the Nuggets during the upcoming season, but it will take a full season of a healthy James and Anthony Davis to do it.
