The New England Patriots made a key move at tight end this offseason.
They signed Mike Gesicki away from the rival Miami Dolphins.
New England needed to add some playmakers to their offense and they did that with Gesicki.
The former Dolphin is 6-foot-6 and his size allows him to be a great red-zone threat.
According to Mike Reiss, Gesicki loves the “energy and juice” Jones brings.

Gesicki mentioned how Jones has a “great arm” and is “accurate.”
Jones and Gesicki should be able to develop a great relationship this offseason.
Gesicki has spent his first five NFL seasons as a member of the Dolphins.
He was underutilized most of those years but is happy for this fresh start.
His best season came in 2021 when he caught 73 passes for 780 yards but only scored two touchdowns.
For the upcoming season, Gesicki will have to split time with Hunter Henry at tight end.
It will be interesting to see how that dynamic works, as Henry and Gesicki both are starting-caliber tight ends.
New England has been aggressive in signing tight ends in free agency.
To go along with Gesicki and Henry, the Patriots signed Jonnu Smith a few years back.
Most tight ends are seen as security blankets for their quarterbacks.
That could be a job that Gesicki takes advantage of.
New England added JuJu Smith-Schuster as another pass-catcher in this offense.
They hope to be much more productive in the 2023 season.
