Things were already going to be tough for the Brooklyn Nets in 2024-25 but the team announced news on Monday that will make everything harder.
According to Ian Begley, both Trendon Watford and Day’Ron Sharpe have been diagnosed with left hamstring strains after hurting themselves in practices last week.
Watford will be looked at again in two weeks while the next update for Sharpe won’t be for six more weeks.
And so begins what might be a very rocky season for the Nets.

The team was already trying to make plans to get by without Nix Claxton, who has his own hamstring soreness to deal with.
Now they have to contend with the loss of both Watford and Sharpe.
Even before these injuries flared up, people weren’t expecting much out of Brooklyn in the new season.
They have recently lost a lot of big players and their offseason moves make it clear that they’re entering a rebuilding phase.
That means they could be one of the worst teams in the league, which will help them in the next draft but will anger their fans for the foreseeable future.
Although a lot of people have written the team off, they could surprise everyone because of their mix of vets and youthful talent.
It’ll be interesting to see players like Dennis Schroder, Ben Simmons, Ziaire Williams, and more attempt to make something special in Brooklyn.
The loss of Watford and Sharpe presents challenges for the Nets but they were already expecting quite a few in 2024-25.
