All season long, Brooklyn Nets fans have been expecting their team to lean into a rebuilding process that will bring them a lot of success down the road.
Rebuilding sometimes takes a while, but the Nets reportedly want to move fast.
According to Brian Windhorst, via Evan Sidery, the Nets are planning to “chase” a star this offseason with their “stockpile of assets and league-leading salary cap space. ”
The Nets have a lot of flexibility and, thankfully, some options, especially when it comes to Cam Johnson’s contract.

We don’t have a clear idea of who the Nets will pursue.
There are a number of players throughout the league who they can afford because of the money and cap space they have accumulated.
The good news for Brooklyn is that they don’t have to lose Johnson in their pursuit of a big star.
The team sees Johnson as someone who could work really well alongside an A-lister, but they could also elect to trade him as well if it helps them acquire the sort of star they want.
In other words, they have a lot of options, and that is putting them in a great position as they start this process.
Brooklyn apparently wants a “quick retooling.”
Instead of waiting a few years for greatness, they are eager to get started as soon as possible and be contenders as early as next season.
This aggressive approach means they could be one of the busiest teams in the league during the offseason.
The Nets and their fans have been waiting patiently, and now they are about to make moves.
