The Philadelphia 76ers have been in the news plenty this year, mostly for the wrong reasons.
All offseason they had a dark cloud over their head from the James Harden saga.
Harden made it clear that he no longer wanted to play for the 76ers and he wanted nothing to do with 76ers President Daryl Morey.
Morey has made a few significant moves since taking over as President of Basketball Operations.
But, none were bigger than when he acquired Harden from the Brooklyn Nets for Ben Simmons.
Unfortunately, it seems like drama follows the 76ers everywhere.
First, it was Simmons, and now Harden, as both were unhappy about playing in Philadelphia.
Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas says Morey is to blame for the 76ers’ issues.
According to ClutchPoints, Arenas said: “What are Morey’s credentials?… He’s an Instagram guy, not a reality guy.”
“It seemed like the [Sixers] were better when Elton Brand was the face [of the team]. He understood basketball… What are [Daryl] Morey’s credentials?… He’s an instagram guy, not a reality guy.”

Morey was the GM of the Houston Rockets from 2007 to 2020.
During that time, the Rockets went to the playoffs ten times and made the Western Conference Finals twice.
He was the one that brought Harden to Houston in 2012-13 and that is where their relationship flourished.
Even though Morey never played, he does have an understanding of the game and how to build strong teams.
Morey will ultimately be judged on how many championships his teams can win.
It is starting to look like that will not happen for him in Philadelphia.
At least not without another major trade that brings another star to Philly.NEXT: Kendrick Perkins Suggests A Wild Reunion For 76ers
