The New York Knicks are one of the most popular NBA teams, despite their lack of success in recent history.
They have an estimated net worth of more than $6.5 billion in 2023.
Being in a big market has helped them balloon their net worth despite performing underwhelmingly in the NBA.
It’s a double-edged sword as the Knicks always seem to have space to sign a big-name free agent, but they have missed out on many players, such as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, in the past.
The Knicks currently have the likes of Joel Embiid and Zion Williamson, among others, on their radar, as reported by Ian Bagley via NBACentral on Twitter.
“Whether it’s Joel Embiid, OG Anunoby, Donovan Mitchell (again), Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson or – further down the road – Giannis Antetokounmpo, I assume the Knicks will seriously engage another team in trade talks for its star player,” Begley wrote.

As per Begley, Joel Embiid, OG Anunoby, Donovan Mitchell, Zion Williamson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the six superstars that the Knicks are targeting.
It seems the Knicks are aiming to land a potential perennial NBA All-Star caliber player.
Sure, they have Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson on the roster, but they need a true superstar to end their championship drought.
The Knicks made it past the first round of the playoffs last season for the first time since the 2013 postseason.
They were defeated by the Miami Heat in six games during the 2023 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The Knicks have more than $26 million in cap space heading into the 2023-24 NBA season.
They can still add a big-name superstar to the roster if they figure out a potential blockbuster trade with any of their targets.
Will the Knicks sign a superstar? We will find out sooner rather than later.
