The Houston Rockets are currently home to one of the most talented young cores in the NBA.
The likes of Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., and Kevin Porter Jr. impressed fans and analysts with their performances last season.
However, the young core of the team couldn’t stay intact for the 2023-24 season.
The core was broken due to the recent news about the Rockets trading Porter to the Oklahoma City Thunder, as revealed via Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter.

The Rockets sent Porter and two future second-round picks in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl from the Thunder.
OKC will not keep Porter on the roster as they will waive the 23-year-old guard.
Porter averaged 19.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game for the Rockets last season.
The Rockets most likely traded away the young guard due to his recent off-court controversy, where he allegedly assaulted and injured his girlfriend.
He has gotten into trouble multiple times, and the organization most likely wanted to trade him before he lost value in the market.
If Porter can get himself out of trouble sooner rather than later, he may find a new contract with a team in the future.
But as things stand right now, most teams in the league will avoid signing him.
After all, no team wants themselves to be associated with a player who cannot get his life off the court on track.
