Damian Lillard has put the Portland Trail Blazers — and the NBA as a whole — on notice with his recent comments about his future.
The superstar recently weighed in on his continuity in Rip City, stating that he doesn’t want to be a part of a rebuilding project and wants to compete now.
With that in mind, multiple teams would gladly open their doors to lure him to their towns, and Chris Haynes reported the Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, and Brooklyn Nets as the likeliest destinations for him, should he decide to leave Portland.

Lillard has repeatedly reaffirmed his commitment to the city and the organization, and he’s made it more than clear that he wants to deliver a championship and play there throughout the course of his entire career.
Nonetheless, the Blazers have a new front office with no ties to him whatsoever, and the current status of their roster — plus the fact that they just got the No. 3 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft — makes it seem like it’ll be tough to see him contend with that kind of team.
His contract won’t be easy to move, but there should be more than enough teams lining up looking to try and make things work.
He’s one of the game’s best, most dominant scorers, and a bonafide leader who’ll only bring positive things to the locker room.
It’s still early, and he might not end up leaving after all, but you have to feel great if you’re a fan of any of those three teams currently leading the race to acquire his services.
