The Washington Wizards are in a difficult place right now.
They’re not good enough to compete for an NBA championship, nor bad enough to be a bottom-feeder and land a top-5 pick.
And given the way the league’s structure is built, that’s the absolute worse place you could ever be.
With that in mind, the Wizards might finally come to terms with the fact that they need to blow the roster up and start from scratch.
Should that happen, then Bill Simmons believes the Philadelphia 76ers would be the frontrunners to land Bradley Beal.
Bill Simmons pegs the Sixers as the favorites to land Bradley Beal in a potential trade
“My odds on favorite is Philadelphia and I don't even think it's close. Beal and [Joel] Embiid, they're friends. Embiid was trying to get him two years ago, which I kept telling people on… pic.twitter.com/A3o0YDs26w

Simmons explained that the Sixers were quite close to acquiring Beal before landing James Harden.
So, given Beal’s friendship with Joel Embiid, and considering the fact that Harden is likely to leave, the Sixers could and should reignite their interest in the shooting guard.
Beal is arguably a better fit next to Embiid, and even though he’s struggled with injuries over the past couple of years, he’s a bonafide scorer from all three levels as well.
The Sixers could finally look to dump Tobias Harris’ massive contract, and they have some first-round draft picks and spare parts they could include to sweeten the deal.
Beal has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to the Wizards organization, and that has granted him millions by the dozen, so it’s hard to blame him.
But even he needs to realize that he’s never going to go deep into the playoffs, let alone win a championship, unless he takes his talents to a better team.
