In the aftermath of Bradley Beal being traded to the star-studded Phoenix Suns, future Hall of Famer Chris Paul faces an uncertain future, as it is doubtful he’ll be staying with the Washington Wizards.
The consensus is that Paul will either be bought out by the Wizards, making him a free agent, or he’ll be rerouted in a trade to another team, which could end up being the Los Angeles Clippers.
The two teams that seemed like the most likely destination for Paul after the Beal trade were the Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers.
The Lakers were immediately dubbed the frontrunner due to the team’s need of some help in the backcourt as well as Paul’s relationship with LeBron James, but that no longer seems to be the case, with the Clippers now emerging as the favorite, according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

Paul returning to the Clippers might turn out to be a great move for the franchise, as it will provide some much-needed stability in the backcourt, even though Russell Westbrook seems to have worked out well with the team in the second half of last season.
The real question moving forward is how much the Clippers will have to give up in a trade to get him and if it is a reasonable deal for both sides.
If Paul ends up becoming a free agent with the Wizards unable to make a deal with the Clippers or another team, the Lakers might become the frontrunner once again, but as of right now, a trade sending Paul back to his old team seems to be the way things are trending in Los Angeles.
