LaMelo Ball might be one of the most exciting guards in the league, but fans want to see more from him.
Since coming into the league five seasons ago, his Charlotte Hornets have repeatedly fallen painfully short of their goals.
However, many people still have great faith in Ball.
Zach Lowe recently summed up what makes Ball so special and why he hasn’t given up on the Hornets star.
“I feel like we’re two of the last people on the ‘LaMelo (Ball) might still be really good’ bandwagon. I’ve said this over and over: 6’8″, proven track record as a great three-point shooter… when you consider how many crazy shots he’s taken, his pull-up three numbers are really, really good, his catch-and-shoot three numbers are elite. With that kind of passing vision, that’s a… unicorn is too strong a word. You don’t find many guys like that, and I’m not giving up on it,” Lowe said.

Last season, Ball averaged 25.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 7.4 assists on 40.5 percent from the floor.
He played with great energy, speed, and flashiness.
But that wasn’t enough for the Hornets, who once again missed the playoffs.
When Ball first entered the league, he was a name to watch and rightfully earned Rookie of the Year.
Since then, there have been too many missed postseasons and too many injuries for some Charlotte fans.
They feel that five years is enough time to turn a team around and deliver.
Because of that, they are demanding a promising 2025-26 season.
If the Hornets sit toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings again at the end of the year, you can bet that more people will lose faith in the team and its lead star.
