There have been some rumors swirling lately that NBA commissioner Adam Silver may be considering leaving the league to take the helm at Disney for current CEO Bob Iger.
After taking over for longtime commissioner David Stern, Silver has done an admirable job with some drastic highs and lows, and drawing interest from other companies isn’t all that surprising.
However, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, leaving the league for Disney doesn’t appear to be something that Silver wants to pursue.

Of course, most big-name executives like Silver refute any rumors connecting them with another major company like Disney.
His stance could change in the coming years, especially if Iger is adamant about bringing him in.
In the meantime, Silver will continue doing a commendable job as NBA commissioner while maintaining the respect of his peers, coaches and players in the league.
Unlike NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Silver is a very well-liked individual in the league and isn’t subjected to boos during the NBA Draft like Goodell is during the NFL Draft.
Silver had some giant shoes to fill when taking over Stern, who recently passed away.
Stern has been credited with helping turn the NBA around in the early 80s when the league was going through tough times and didn’t appear to have a bright future.
Ultimately, Stern turned the league into a booming business that competes with the NFL and MLB.
Although the league still has a way to go before competing with the NFL head-to-head, the NBA is in a good place with Silver at the helm and will likely continue to be as long as he stays put.NEXT: Klay Thompson Has Set A New Personal Best This Season
